Egypt gov't seeks to establish 5 logistics centres

Cairo-Mubasher: Minister of Supply Khaled Hanafi and Chairman of Orascom Telecom Naguib Sawiris discussed the procedures of building five logistics centers in Cairo, Ismailia, Al Sharqia, Asyut and Minya governorates.

The centres aim to store seeds, vegetables and fruit, as well as offering them at the markets at lower prices.

They also discusses the project of establishing a top-notch transport network of nearly 1,500 trucks, in addition to building two ports with initial investments of nearly EGP 1 billion.

The project will offer around 6,000 direct job opportunities as it will be undertaken through an alliance between Orascom and Aramex with the Internal Trade Development Authority.
