Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Minister for Education and Technical Education, Tarek Shawki, and the Minister of Awqaf, Mohamed Gomaa, and the Minister of Planning, Hala El-Saeed, have signed a cooperation protocol to provide EGP 200 million for the purpose of constructing schools in villages and the poorest communities.
The schools’ management will be under the supervision of the education ministry, according to a recent statement by the Awqaf ministery.
The education ministry has chosen the areas on which the first ten schools will be built, as one school will be in Beheira governorate while the other nine will be constructed in Upper Egypt governorates, through two instalments equalling EGP 50 million each to be injected in the National Charitable Investment Fund.
Initiated as part of the investment funds, the charity fund was collectively launched by different public, private, civilian, and community sectors to boost the education system in Egypt, the planning minister added.
Moreover, the fund’s board has directed to reduce the classrooms’ density while supporting vocational education and building specialised technical schools, the minister said, adding that the fund will offer a fixed amount worth EGP 100 million to provide a distinguished educational service.
