Egypt grants MSMEs tax, customs incentives

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian minister of finance Mohamed Maait said that the law no. 152 of 2020 regarding micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) development includes several customs and tax incentives.

These incentives are aimed at supporting this vital sector, which is one of the main economic drivers, as well as encouraging businesses in the informal sector to regularise, Maait added in a statement on Wednesday.

MSMEs will be given preferential tax rates ranging from 0.5% to 1% according to the volume of their revenues.

In addition, the law also includes exemption from stamp taxes and fees for registration of articles of association for five years.
