Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s minister of housing will lay the cornerstone for Al Alamein City next week, with the attendance of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi next week.
The day marks 75 years since the Alamein Battle as part of World War II.
Mostafa Madbouly revealed that the new city would house a population of around 3 million to 4 million people, and will include an industrial zone, universities, and touristic establishments such as hotels.
The city’s first phase includes 5,000 social housing and distinct housing units, the minister revealed in a statement released Wednesday, adding that 2,000 of these units are currently being refurbished.
In September, the minister revealed that the government was set to begin building 15 towers in the New Alamein City in October, adding that 1,920 units under the distinct housing project will be refurbished at EGP 300 million.
