Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt has implemented projects related to protection against floods and improvement of efficiency of drains and canals valued at EGP 700 million in Aswan during the last three years, the country's minister of water resources and irrigation Mohamed Abdelaaty said.
One dam, three barriers, and three lakes with a capacity of 25 million cubic metres were built at a cost of EGP 250 million, Abdelaaty added in a statement.
In addition, the ministry aims to implement flood protection projects valued at EGP 250 million in Aswan, Luxor, and Qena by 2021.
