Egypt in talks over $1.68bn financing for Sinai development

Cairo-Mubasher: The Egyptian government is negotiating with Arab funds to finance Sinai development projects with nearly $1.68 billion over three years, in addition to $1.5 billion financing from Saudi Arabia, said Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr.

On the sidelines of a meeting with North Sinai governor, Nasr highlighted the necessity to focus on education, infrastructure and helping the needy people.

The two parties discussed the implementation rate in the governorate’s development projects which are financed by the U.S.

The minister also said the projects are proceeding as scheduled and will be completed by the end of 2017.
