Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian transport minister Kamel el-Wazir on Wednesday revealed progress in the Monorail project.
Works have started in the line from Nasr City to New Cairo, while works in the line from Imbabah to the Sixth of October City are set to start in March 2020, el-Wazir said, according to a statement.
The minister announced that the government is in talks with Canadian manufacturer of trains and jets Bombardier for the building of a factory in Egypt to produce tools, equipment, and spare parts for the Egyptian Railways and the metro.
Last year, Egyptian transport ministry signed contracts with Bombardier for Monorail in the New Administrative Capital and Sixth of October City.
