Egypt in talks with Chinese firms to build PV manufacturing complex

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production, Ahmed Morsy, met with representatives from China’s Chint and ENARA Group to explore the possible means of cooperation for establishing an industrial complex for manufacturing photovoltaic (PV) cells from sand, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Monday.

The minister held talks with several Chinese companies to build an industrial complex for manufacturing solar panels from sand as part of the country’s drive towards renewable energy generation.

The move is aimed at pushing forward the protocol of cooperation signed in April with ENARA for manufacturing PV cells from the Egyptian quartz.
