Egypt inks $3.3bn deal to build Disneyland like city

Cairo – Mubasher: The investment ministry on Thursday announced that it has signed a $3.3 billion American-Saudi investment agreement to establish an integrated entertainment city like Disneyland spanning 5,080 acres in El Alamein.

The deal has been signed by Marsa Matrouh governor Alaa Abu-Zeid and Entertainment World MENA managing director Liza Marie Stephen.

This is the largest investment in Marsa Matrouh governorate, Abu-Zeid said, adding that the project will have an open zoo, water park, medical and sports city, and hotels.

From her part, Stephen indicated that Entertainment World’s investment in Egypt is one of the company’s huge investments in the world.

The entertainment city project will be executed over nine to 10 years, on which the first phase will complete within two years, she added, pointing out that the project will also include an edutainment city and will create around 40,000 jobs.
