Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt has invested about $1.6 billion in developing information technology (IT) infrastructure in a bid to improve internet services, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Tuesday, citing the minster of communications and information technology Amr Talaat as saying.
The development has led to raising the average download speed to 20 megabits per second (mbps) from 5.7 mbps, Talaat added.
A quality control centre has been established to test the quality of internet services provided by telecom operators in Egypt, he revealed.
