Egypt invests EGP 175bn in fourth-generation cities

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian government has injected EGP 175 billion investments into fourth-generation cities projects, Egypt’s assistant minister of planning Gamil Helmy revealed on Wednesday.

The huge investments have created 672,000 jobs, Helmy said, adding that these cities will accommodate 26 million people.

The top official noted that last year saw the opening of 10,000 school classes, 26 faculties and institutes, and 3 public universities, along with the accreditation of 972 schools.

Earlier today, Helmy stated that the value of finance provided to small and micro enterprises by the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSME) reached EGP 5.416 billion during the fiscal year 2018/2019.
