Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian planning ministry invested around EGP 2.85 billion in the country’s local development programmes during the first half of fiscal year 2017/2018.
Transport and road projects made up the largest stake of these investments by 48%, followed by environment improvement schemes with a 22% stake, the ministry added on its official page on Facebook.
Meanwhile, projects of upgrading the national electricity grid, local units support programmes, and security and fire safety schemes dominated 13%, 10%, and 7%, respectively, of the investments, the ministry noted.
