Egypt invests EGP 29.6bn in Qena, Sohag in four years

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian government has invested about EGP 29.6 billion in Qena and Sogah between fiscal years 2016/2017 and 2019/2020, the Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala El-Saeed, said.

The investments include EGP 14.3 billion to Qena and EGP 15.3 billion to Sohag over the last four years, El-Saeed added in a statement on Thursday.

Under the local development programme in Upper Egypt during the FY16/17-FY19/20 period, Qena witnessed investments of EGP 2.8 billion, while Sohag saw EGP 3 billion in investments. These investments have been 53.4% financed by loans and the remaining amount has been financed by the state treasury.
