Egypt invests EGP 470m in upgrading Qalyubia's electricity network

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy has invested EGP 470 million in raising the efficiency of the electricity network in Qalyubia in fiscal year 2019/2020.

Medium-voltage overhead power lines reached 1,600.782 kilometres (km) in length, while the length of medium-voltage underground cables registered 1,475.002 km and low-voltage overhead power lines amounted to 4,557.001 km, according to a statement on Sunday.

The number of electricity subscribers in the governorate of Qalyubia stands at about 1.2 million.
