Egypt invests EGP 68bn in upgrading transmission networks since 2015

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt has invested a total of EG 68 billion in upgrading electricity transmission networks since 2015, minister of electricity Mohamed Shaker said.

The upgrade includes adding, replacing, and renovating overhead power lines and high-and extra-high-voltage substations, Shaker added in a statement on Tuesday.

The cost of the electricity transmission network development plan is expected to reach EGP 76 billion by the end of 2020, he noted.
