Egypt invests EGP 940bn in infrastructure in 5 yrs

Cairo – Mubasher: Total investments directed into infrastructure in Egypt reached EGP 940 billion over the last five years, assistant minister of planning Gamil Helmy said. 

New roads with a total length of 250 kilometres were established during fiscal year 2018/2019, Helmy added in a statement on Wednesday.

In addition, roads at a combined length of 1,000 km were renewed, in addition to developing 6,385 km of railway roads and 64 level crossings during the last fiscal year. 

Helmy revealed that a total of 446 projects in several sectors were established at a total cost of EGP 115 billion during FY18/19.
