Dubai - Decypha: A survey by EFG Hermes, held on the sidelines of the One on One 2017 Conference opening session, showed that Egypt is the favourite destination for investors this year.
EFG Hermes polled 510 international fund managers and institutional investors from 260 institutions, and 147 leading companies from MENA on the outlook for the markets.
According to 60% of the participants, MENA markets will outperform emerging markets in 2017, but political instability will continue to be seen as the main source of risk for MENA markets, according to 43% of votes, while potential for higher trade barriers is seen as the key risk to global markets this year.
Among MENA and frontier markets, most voters said Egypt will be the top performing market in USD terms in 2017, with most (41%) believing that the USD-EGP exchange rate ending the year at EGP 15-17.
The majority of investors continue to see healthcare as the sector with the greatest performance potential.
The three-day event was launched Monday in Dubai with over 510 international fund managers and institutional investors from around 260 institutions with aggregate assets under management exceeding $10 trillion.
