Egypt jumps 4 ranks in 2017 Doing Business report

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Ministry of Trade and Industry on Thursday announced that Egypt went up four places in the World Bank’s Doing Business 2017 report, supported by the recent economic reforms.

Egypt ranked 122nd in the 2017 report, up from rank 126 in 2016.

Recently issued international reports confirm that the Egyptian economy is witnessing a remarkable development in the environment and business climate indicators, minister Tarek Kabil said during a meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission’s visit to Cairo.

The mission is conducting the first evaluation of Egypt’s economic reform programme in preparation for approving the second tranche of the $12 billion loan, which amounts to $1.25 billion.

Kabil stated that the economic reforms led to the development of a strategy for sustainable growth, aimed at enhancing the Egyptian economy’s growth and maximising its global role.
