Egypt maintains preventive measures against coronavirus

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population has denied allegations that quarantine procedures at ports and airports across the country have stopped.

The ministry emphasized the continuity of precautionary and preventive measurements against the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

All incoming passengers are screened and tested for the new virus, the ministry said in a statement by the cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC).

The ministry further negated new cases of the virus have been discovered, noting that if any case is discovered it will be announced and reported to the World Health Organization (WHO).

On Thursday, the ministry announced the recovery of the first case reported in the country of a foreign visitor, who was discharged from the hospital yesterday after testing negative for the virus.
