Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s index of manufacturing and extractive industries, excluding crude oil and petroleum products, fell by 8.4% month-on-month to 131.84 points in April from 143.94 points, according to data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
The index of basic metals rose by 16% to 82.65 points in April, compared to 71.22 points in March, the state-run statistics agency revealed.
Meanwhile, the index of other manufacturing industries surged by 20.2% to 80.89 points in the fourth month of 2019 from 67.28 points a month earlier.
On the other hand, the index of food industries declined by 24.1% to 82.44 points in April, compared to 108.66 points in March.
In addition, the index of electronics production industry retreated 1.5% to 178.96 points in April from 181.73 points in the previous month.
