Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s index of manufacturing and extractive industries, excluding crude oil and petroleum products, slipped 0.55% month-on-month in December to 133.68 from 132.95 points.
The index of pharmaceutical and chemical products industry increased by 16.8% to 200.15 points last December, versus 171.34 points a month earlier, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said in a statement on Monday.
Moreover, the machines and tools industry index rose by 22.5% month-on-month to 290.42 points in December from 237.17 points, the CAPMAS added.
On the other hand, the index of paper industry fell by 15.4% to 77.44 points in the final month of 2018, compared to 91.59 points in November, the state-run statistics agency highlighted.
Meanwhile, the index of electronics production industry went down by 4.5% to 100.02 points from 104.77 points last November, the agency said.
