Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s population is expected to reach 160 million by 2050, a report released by the United Nations (UN) revealed.
Egypt is one of nine countries that are expected to show the biggest increase, along with India, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Indonesia, and the US.
By the end of the century, Egypt’s population may reach 225 million, the report added.
The UN expected that the world population would increase to 9.7 billion by 2050 and to 11 billion by the end of the 21st century.
