Egypt most attractive market for investments in Africa – Minister

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt is considered the most attractive market for investments in Africa, the country’s minister of finance Mohamed Maait said.

Egypt also came in the second place in terms of gross domestic product (GDP) during the fourth quarter, following China, Maait added citing a report released by the Economist.

The Egyptian government aims to slash public debt to GDP ratio by 25% in three years from 2017 to 2020, the country’s minister of finance Mohamed Maait noted in a statement on Tuesday.

In addition, the sovereign debt management’s unit was named the best in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by GlobalMarkets, he added

During a roundtable discussion held with the French ambassador to Egypt and representatives from several French companies, the minister affirmed that the private sector will play a key role in the new universal health insurance system.
