Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt is considering connecting its electricity network to Sudan and Ethiopia by setting up interconnection lines through four 500-kilovolt, 1,600 metres long electrical circuits.
The Egyptian electricity ministry had made a study regarding this project in the past, but the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam’s construction postponed the execution of the electricity link project, government sources told Alborsa News.
Egypt’s foreign minister Sameh Shoukry had previously said that Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia have agreed on completing the technical studies in regard to the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam within a month.
