Egypt mulls issuing EGP 153.5bn debt instruments in November

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Finance (MOF) is planning to ease the issuance of debt instruments by 20% month-on-month in November.

The ministry is looking to issue treasury bills and bonds worth a combined EGP 153.5 billion next month, versus EGP 192 million in October.

The MoF is also seeking to sell T-bonds worth EGP 5.5 billion in November, as well as EGP 148 billion in T-bills.

The Arab world's most populous country plans to cut general debt to 92% of gross domestic product (GDP) this year.

Egypt aims to issue EGP 409.6 billion T-bills and EGP 101.6 billion T-bonds in fiscal year 2018/2019.
