Egypt mulls launching Sokhna-Hurghada express train

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt is considering the establishment of a 350-kilometre long express train that links between Ain Sokhna and Hurghada, transport minister Hisham Arafat said.

Arafat noted that the project aims at serving tourist traffic between Cairo and Hurghada, according to Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper.

The first phase of the Ain Sokhna-New Administrative Capital and Alamain project will cover linking Ain Sokhna with the new capital and the 6th of October, the minister highlighted, giving no further details about the value of the project.

Last week, the supreme committee of Egypt’s housing and transport ministries announced the list of consortiums and global firms that submitted documents for implementation and operation of the projects of Ain Sokhna-New Alamain electric train, New Administrative Capital-Nasr city monorail, and 6th of October-Giza train tenders.
