Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s minister of finance Mohamed Maait has issued a decree to form a committee that aims to develop the customs clearance process of imported goods.
The committee will include representatives from the Egyptian Customs Authority, the Central Administration of Plant Quarantine, the Central Administration for Veterinary Quarantine, the Egyptian Food Safety Authority, and other authorities, according to a statement on Wednesday.
This move is part of the government’s plans to speed up the customs process, cut down the time and costs for customs clearance, and help Egypt move up the World Bank’s cross-border trade index.
