Egypt needs EGP 300bn to boost rural sanitation coverage

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, said that resuming the establishment of wastewater projects in rural areas would cost the country EGP 300 billion.

Sanitation coverage in villages has significantly increased to 50% from 12% in 2014, Madbouly added in a press conference on Wednesday.

On a side note, the prime minister noted that agricultural lands have decreased by about 400,00 feddans since 1980 and around 90,000 feddans since 2011 due to the construction of buildings on agricultural land in violation to the law.
