Egypt nets $3.3bn from IT industry in 2017 - Report

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt has generated $3.25 billion in revenues from information technology (IT) industry and services last year, according to a report by International Data Corporation (IDC).

IT exports are projected to grow by 13.4% in the period starting from 2017 to 2020, the report added.

The number of workers in the IT industry is forecast to increase to 37,800 by 2020, from 292,000 workers in the last year, the report highlighted.

On the other hand, sub-governor of the Central bank of Egypt (CBE) Ayman Hussien had recently announced that the CBE is seeking to turn Egypt into a main regional and global financial technology hub.
