Egypt nets EGP 2bn vehicle duties in 4M

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s vehicle duty proceeds soared by 213.17% year-on-year during the first four months of the current fiscal year.

Total revenues from vehicle duty reached EGP 2.02 billion in the July-October period of this year, versus EGP 645 million in the same period last year, according to a recent report by the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

In the same vein, tax revenues from stock corporations recorded EGP 31.2 billion at the end of October, compared to EGP 22.11 billion in the corresponding four-month period of 2017.

Moreover, the government netted tax revenues of around EGP 12.77 billion from the Suez Canal during the four-month period, versus EGP 8.6 billion in the year-ago period.

Total tax revenue amounted to EGP 189.2 billion for the same period, versus EGP 139.57 billion in the same period a year earlier.
