Egypt offers Red Sea exploration bid round for 10 blocks

Cairo — Mubasher: Ganoub El Wadi Petroleum Holding Company (Ganope) on Sunday announced launching an international tender for exploring oil and gas in ten Red Sea concessions.

The state-run oil firm invited contenders to present their bids in alignment with the tender’s terms, according to an official statement.

The international oil and gas producers could review the concessions’ information and seismic data by submitting a prior request as of Sunday, 10 March, Ganope noted.

The purchasing of seismic data of each block is a prerequisite to present bids, the company added, setting 1 August as a deadline for receiving offers.

In Late October 2018, Egypt’s petroleum ministry previously announced it would launch the first international tender for exploring oil and gas in the Red Sea concessions after completing the first phase of seismic surveys.
