Egypt pays out EGP 65m in aid to tourism workers

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Labour Emergency Fund announced the disbursement of the second tranche of the emergency aid to employees in the tourism sector which was hardly hit by the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

An amount EGP 7.7 million is being disbursed to about 7,500 workers in 70 establishments, the Ministry of Manpower said in a statement on Sunday.

The total value of the first and second tranches of the emergency aid in a week amounted to EGP 65 million to nearly 56,280 workers in 275 establishments.

In addition, applications of another 3,525 establishments are currently being considered.
