Egypt pays out EGP 89m in aid to tourism workers

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Labour Emergency Fund is currently paying out the third tranche of the emergency aid to workers in the tourism sector which has been hardly hit by the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, minister of manpower Mohamed Saafan said.

An amount EGP 24.192 million is being disbursed to nearly 23,490 workers in 110 establishments, Saafan added in a statement on Wednesday.

The total value of the first, second, and third tranches of the emergency aid in two weeks reached EGP 89.17 million disbursed to around 79,770 workers in 385 tourism establishments.

In addition, applications of another 3,415 establishments are currently being considered.
