Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian government is targeting reducing budget deficit from its current level at 10% to 3% or 3.5% by 2022, the Egyptian minister of finance said in a statement on Saturday.
Amr El Garhy added in his official statement that the government of Egypt aims at attracting more investments and achieving high sustainable growth rates to create more jobs, and reduce unemployment rates.
Egypt aims at fully applying Government Fiscal Management Information System (GFMIS) by March 2017, to completely control and monitor expenditure and revenues in the country’s ministries and departments.
The minister noted that the new system will help reach transparency and increase efficiency.
