Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian government plans to develop seven unsafe slums at a total cost of EGP 415 million in fiscal year 2020/2021, the minister of planning and economic development Hala El-Saaed said.
In addition, a total of 48 unsafe areas on privately-owned lands comprising about 23,500 residential unit are planned to be developed at a combined cost of EGP 945 million, El-Saeed added on Tuesday.
Egypt’s plan also includes the development of 5,500 feddans of unplanned areas at a cost of EGP 7.6 billion as well as the development of 23 markets and resumption of development of 29 markets at a cost of EGP 1 billion.
