Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s trade ministry is planning to increase the country’s annual exports to $55 billion (EGP 953.18 billion) from $24.8 billion (EGP 429.8 billion).
The ministry is aiming at positioning Egypt among the world’s top 40 exporters within the next five years, Egypt's minister of trade and industry Amr Nassar stated on a statement released on Tuesday.
Nassar added that the government was also planning to improve the balance of trade and boost industrial investments.
The plan includes the reduction of the unemployment rate and the diversification markets that receive Egyptian imports, the minister revealed.
Egypt’s revenue surged 20.1% year-on-year during the third quarter of the fiscal year 2018/2019.
