Egypt public debt up 23% by in 6M 2016/2017

Cairo - Mubasher: Data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) showed an increase in public debt by the end of the first half of fiscal year 2016/2017, by around 23.3% year-on-year.

The data showed that public debt amounted to EGP 3.079 trillion between July 2016 and March 2017, compared to EGP 2.496 trillion for the same period in the year before.
