Egypt pumps EGP 120m to support health facilities in Sohag, Qena

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian minister of local development Mahmoud Shaarawy announced that a total of EGP 120 million will be injected immediately to support health facilities in Sohag and Qena amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The funding is part of the Upper Egypt Development Programme financed by a $500 million loan as well as a $ 457 million contribution from the Egyptian government, Shaarawy added in a statement on Tuesday.

In addition, a new cooperation protocol will be signed between Sogah and Qena governorates under the auspices of the Ministry of Local Development and Ministry of Health and Population with the aim of financing an intervention package to support healthcare services.
