Egypt raises EGP 164m from state land recovery auction

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's State Land Recovery Committee collected EGP 164 million from a state land recovery auction held yesterday for selling thirteen land plots, said Agriculture Ministry spokesman Eid Hawash.

"The proceeds will be deposited in the committee's fund known as 'the People's right' for initiating national and strategic projects", the spokesman told Mubasher in a phone call.

The auction included the sale of lands in Wadi Al-Natroun, Beheira, and on the Cairo-Alexandria road.

In February, President El-Sisi formed the state land recovery committee over which the former Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab was presided. The committee aims to redeem the state stolen lands.
