Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian government has allocated EGP 254.5 billion for the health sector in fiscal year 2020/2021, up by 45% from the current fiscal year.
In addition, a total of EGP 363.6 billion will be spent on the education sector, recording a 14.8% year-on-year increase, according to data released by the Ministry of Finance.
Allocated expenditures on scientific research, health insurance, and medical staff incentives are increased to EGP 60.4 billion, EGP 10.6 billion, and EGP 0.5 billion, respectively.
Egypt reduced its economic growth target for FY20/21 to 4.5% from 6% due to the economic disruption caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
