Egypt records 27.5% higher medical, pharmaceutical exports in 11M

Cairo - Mubasher: The total value of Egypt's medical and pharmaceutical exports increased by around 27.5% to $602 million in the January-November period of 2021, compared to $472 million in the year-ago period, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.

In November, Egypt reported a 3.2% year-on-year (YoY) rise in medical and pharmaceutical exports to $65 million from about $63 million, as shown by a cited report of the Egyptian Export Council of Medical Industries (ECMI).

In the first eleven months (11M) of 2021, Egypt's exports of pharmaceuticals amounted to $248 million, up 31.2% from $189 million in the corresponding period of the earlier year.

Meanwhile, exports of Egyptian medical supplies jumped by 7.4% YoY to $87 million in the January-November period of 2021.

During the third quarter (Q3) of 2021, Egypt's medical and pharmaceutical exports rose by 5.3% to $138 million from $131 million in the same quarter of 2020.
