Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Health announced the detection of seven new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections to 55.
The seven new cases include four foreigners and three Egyptians, according to a statement on Wednesday.
One of the infected Egyptians returned from Saudi Arabia after performing Umrah, while the two others had contact with the infected case that returned from Serbia.
In addition, the North African nation also reported the first fatality from the new virus after a 60-year-old German tourist, who arrived in the country seven days ago, died of the disease on Sunday in Hurghada.
