Egypt reviews E-commerce tax imposition

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Tax Authority is studying the imposition of E-commerce taxation for the first time through seizing the firms’ operation incomes that exceed billions.

Applying value-added tax (VAT) on these activities will bolster the country’s outcome and save a huge return for the Egyptian treasury, a source noted to Almal News.

The tax accounting standards will be announced and will be in line with the VAT regulations, according to the source.

Egypt began applying the VAT in September 2016 after it was approved by parliament in August 2016, as VAT is calculated at 13% of the value of the product
