Egypt’s Agricultural Bank mulls EGP 400m SME funding by year-end

Cairo – Mubasher: Agricultural Bank of Egypt (ABE) considers injecting funding worth EGP 400 million to small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by the end of 2019, head of SME department, Hussien Abdulbaset, said.

Over the first eight months of 2019, the lender provided SMEs with funding valued at EGP 600 million, Abdulbaset told Mubasher.

ABE aims to raise its SME funding portfolio to EGP 35 billion by the end of fiscal year 2019/2020 from EGP 30.5 billion in June, he added.
