Cairo – Mubasher: The chairman of Egypt’s Chamber of Engineering Industries (CEI) on Saturday stated that the chamber had filed two complaints to anti-dumping and customs authorities, requesting them to impose anti-dumping fees on Turkey’s ceramic and granite kitchenware exports.
Turkey’s kitchenware exports are custom-free and are only charged with a 14% value-added tax (VAT), the CBI’s chairman Mohamed Abdel Rahman El Mohandes added.
The Turkish government supports 25% of the price of its kitchenware exports, which put the Egyptian products in disadvantage, the top official revealed.
This disadvantage urged 30 factories to minimise their production volume, El Mohandes concluded.
