Cairo-Mubasher: Egypt’s consumer price index (CPI) went down to 10.7% in January 2016 from 11.9% in same period a year earlier, the government statistics body said on Wednesday.
On other hand, the country’s CPI edged up 0.1% m-o-m to 175.5 points in January, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
CAPMAS pointed out that the rise in inflation is mainly attributed to the increase in the prices of vegetables, butane cylinders, meat and poultry with varied rates.
Egypt’s inflation inched down by 0.1% m-o-m in December 2015.
