Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and Egyptian National Petroleum For Exploration and Development Company (ENPEDCO) have signed two agreements for oil and gas exploration in Egypt’s Western Desert.
Under the agreements, four exploratory wells at the concessions of East Abu Senan and East Ras Qattara in the Western Desert will be drilled with up to $4 million in investments, the Egyptian petroleum ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
The oil sector is focusing on potential structural geology in the Western Desert which requires further exploration, petroleum minister Tarek El-Molla said.
The ministry encourages Egyptian oil companies to boost their discoveries and expand their businesses to develop the country’s sources of oil and gas, he added.
