Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Public Enterprise Sector has agreed with China’s Dongfeng Motor Corporation (DFM) to sign a memorandum of understating (MoU) in January 2020.
Under the deal, the state-owned El Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company will start manufacturing electric vehicles (EV), according to a statement on Wednesday.
The Egyptian car maker targets an output capacity of 25,000 EVs in the next years, the public enterprise minister Hisham Tawfik said.
It is noteworthy that El Nasr Automotive stopped production in 2009 as the government decided to liquidate the company.
