Cairo – Mubasher: Fawry, a leading e-payment solutions company based in Egypt, is getting ready to launch its services in the UAE over the coming period.

The Egyptian firm has collaborated with Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) to offer its services in Dubai, which is the company’s first expansion outside Egypt, the company’s managing director Mohamed Okasha told reporters.

Fawry plans to launch all its services in the Emirati market, including paying bills via ATMs, mobile wallets, and retail points, in addition to online payment, Okasha said.

The company also aims to deal with new clients in the UAE and offer them collection services, electronic cash, payment facilitation for companies and institutions, and business-to-business (B2B) collection centres, Okasha added.

He clarified that customers can pay government services in Egypt online through Fawry points and branches, Manasah app, Fawry Pay, and the national card Meza.

The Egyptian Ministry of Finance (MoF) previously announced that 1 May marked the introduction of e-payment for all government services.

Fawry seeks to increase the number of e-payment transactions conducted through it to 3 million transactions per day by the end of 2019 from 2.4 million, Okasha noted.

He highlighted that the company has allocated EGP 40 billion in 2018 and aims to boost this number to EGP 60 billion by the end of this year.

Moreover, Fawry plans to increase the number of its points of sale across Egypt to 120,000 from 100,000, he added.
