Egypt's GASC receives bids for soyoil, sunflower oil deal

Mubasher: The General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) of Egypt has received the lowest offers for both sunflower oil and soybean oil, Reuters reported.

Egypt's state buyer, GASC, received the lowest offer of $704.45 per tonne for 11,500 tonnes of sunflower oil, according to traders, Reuters said.

The lowest offer for soybean oil was EGP 12,500 Egyptian pounds ($715) per tonne for 6,000 tonnes, as part of an international purchase tender for vegetable oils by GASC, the traders said, according to Reuters.

The vegetable oils for GASC’s tenders are set for arrival between 15 and 30 April.

Reuters said, “Traders gave the following breakdown of the offers presented in dollars per tonne: ADM: 12,000 tonnes of sunflower oil at $709.69 per tonne; Aston: 11,500 tonnes of sunflower oil at $704.45 per tonne; Hakan: 11,000 tonnes of sunflower oil at $706.33 per tonne; Watanya: 6,000 tonnes of soyoil at EGP 12,500 (equating to $714.90) or 10,000 tonnes of soyoil at EGP 12,700 (equating to $726.33); Hakan: 30,000 tonnes of soyoil at $719.34 per tonne and/or 6,000 tonnes of soyoil at $719.33 per tonne.”
